The Importance of a Floor Safety Sign During Fire Evacuations
From structural stability to the evacuation readiness of an emergency egress system, there are numerous aspects that define the safety of a commercial building. But perhaps the most underrated aspect of commercial building safety is the placement of OSHA safety signs–also referred to as “safe signs”. OSHA safety signs come in a variety of forms, but signs that serve as indicators of fire equipment and indicators of exit paths and assisted rescue areas are the most critical in commercial buildings. In an everyday setting, an OSHA safety sign can seem redundant. But during fire evacuations, a glow in the dark OSHA safety sign can help panicked evacuees regain control. Although safe signs come in a variety of makes and models, there are three types of safe signs that every commercial building should possess to offer its occupants the greatest protection in the event of low visibility fire evacuations: fire extinguisher signs, running man signs and assisted rescue area signs.

Fire Statistics in the UK
Every year, a significant amount of fire incidents happen in the United Kingdom and a significant amount of deaths and injuries also occur during these fires. Having a detailed record of these facts and figures can be of great help in creating methods and devices to further lessen such unpleasant incidents.
